"Just a Closer Walk With Thee" arranged by Dan Goeller
starting February 12th, Sundays, 9:30 am, Room 206
taught by Dan Anderson-Little
This course builds on some of the themes explored in Baker Symes class as well as my sermon "Rethinking Morality" preached on February 12. In this class we will discuss how we can construct and articulate a morality of sex and sexuality in the 21st Century. While this class is open to all high schoolers and adults, one of my hopes for the class is that it will help parents of children and youth to think through these issues so they can more effectively communicate moral hopes and expectations for their children.
This season of Lent begins this coming Wednesday with our Ash Wednesday service. This year's service will move physically and spiritually from Desolation to Consolation. We will begin in the Dining Room at 7pm and move throughout the church as we express our brokenness and discover God's grace. The service will provide time and space for introspection and meditation. Worshippers will be invited to have ashes imposed on their foreheads as a sign of their penance and we will conclude with communion, the sign of God's blessing. Pease join us for this "moving" service.
